OUR STORY

Grey Heron Garden Centre is a family-run nursery started in 2020 by Chris and Katie Sweatman. It combines a passion for nature with community values, representing a new chapter in Grey County.

The name "Grey Heron" is meaningful to us, linking our history and inspiration. In his 20s, Chris worked for his aunt's landscaping business, Blue Heron, where he developed a love for plants under his aunt Bette's mentorship. After moving back to Grey County, Chris and Katie felt inspired to create something that honoured their roots. With Chris's aunts now nearby, the garden centre embodies their journey and connection to the community.

We aim for every visit to Grey Heron to feel like returning home—to nature, growth, and a shared passion for gardening.
